Mutual Commitment! Australian Business Delegation Returns to TEDA to Explore New Development Opportunities

Australia–China trade and economic cooperation
On July 7, an Australian business delegation led by Boman Group — and including Homart Pharmaceuticals, Frontier Pets, JPC Group, GreenEco, Innofocus, and the Australia–China Association of Scientists and Entrepreneurs (ACASE) — returned to TEDA (Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area) to participate in a China–Australia Business Cooperation Matchmaking Conference. This return visit marks the tangible outcome of the TEDA delegation’s earlier visit to Australia and signifies a new, pragmatic phase in bilateral cooperation.

In May this year, a delegation from TEDA visited Australia to conduct economic and trade exchanges, gaining in-depth insights into local industries, promoting regional development opportunities, and extending sincere invitations to several high-quality Australian companies. The returning delegation includes representatives from sectors such as cross-border finance, biopharmaceuticals, premium pet food, environmental technology, advanced manufacturing, and research commercialization, which closely align with TEDA’s strategic industrial focus — demonstrating strong intent to deepen engagement in the Chinese market.

The event was attended by representatives from the Melbourne Office in Tianjin, the Tianjin Free Trade Zone Administrative Office, relevant departments of the TEDA Administrative Committee, and several interested enterprises and financial institutions. It served as a platform for business development and financing connections. Australian company representatives presented their projects one by one, expressing strong interest in pursuing multi-dimensional cooperation with TEDA. Leading Australian manufacturers such as Homart Pharmaceuticals (a well-known producer of supplements, skincare, and dairy products), Frontier Pets (an emerging pet food brand), and GreenEco (an environmental technology company), voiced both confidence in and demand for entering the Chinese market.

Chinese companies such as Sinorui Supply Chain and JD Health also presented cooperation proposals, reaching preliminary collaboration intentions with the visiting Australian firms. The Tianjin Free Trade Zone Authority and the TEDA Human Resources and Social Security Bureau introduced favorable policies regarding investment facilitation and talent attraction, providing strong policy support for Australian enterprises looking to invest and expand in Tianjin.

Eric Gao, Founder of Boman Group, noted that TEDA offers a unique combination of national-level development zone, free trade pilot zone, and bonded zone, making it a pioneer in investment and trade facilitation, streamlined business regulation, and reduced transaction costs. He expressed hope that Boman’s successful experience in TEDA could inspire and lead more Australian companies to invest in the region.

Ren Dongsheng, Member of the TEDA Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee, remarked that the successful return visit of the Australian delegation vividly reflects the achievements of earlier mutual exchanges. It is also a clear sign of TEDA’s commitment to high-level opening-up and creating a first-class business environment. He stressed that TEDA places great importance on its partnerships with Australian companies and will offer sincere support, optimal services, and efficient processes to help Australian firms achieve localized growth and seize the opportunities of the Chinese market. He looked forward to fruitful collaborations in areas such as financial innovation, biopharmaceuticals, green technologies, and premium consumption, aiming to jointly write a new chapter in Australia–China trade and economic cooperation.

This matchmaking conference not only consolidated the outcomes of previous exchanges, but also provided an efficient and practical cooperation platform between TEDA and Australian industries. TEDA will continue to optimize its international business environment, deepen its links with global innovation networks — including Australia — and accelerate the implementation of more high-level collaborative projects, injecting strong momentum into the region’s high-quality development.
